The new Ingersoll Rand® W5133P-C1D2 3/8″ Compact Impact Wrench is the first cordless impact wrench on the market certified for Class 1, Division 2 applications. Operators working in heavy equipment, infrastructure construction, oil and gas, petrochemical and mining rely on the W5133P-C1D2 impact wrench for power and durability in tough, hazardous environments. The tool delivers 550 foot-pounds of nut-busting torque and 365 foot-pounds of max reverse torque.

The W5133P-C1D2 impact wrench conforms to UL® and CSA Group® standards for use in areas where flammable gases, vapors or liquids are present under normal conditions.[1] The following are safety features of the Ingersoll Rand W5133P-C1D2:

  • The retention cage holds the battery in place to reduce the risk of sparks
  • A pin anvil holds the socket securely on the tool to keep it from dislodging while in use
  • The variable-speed switch and electronic brake increase control while using the tool
  • The safety-release prevents the drive from spinning when the operator lets go of the trigger

The W5133P-C1D2 impact wrench weighs 5.5 pounds. The tool is available with a 3/8″ or 1/2″ square drive. It has an all-metal drivetrain and hammer mechanism, so operators have the power they need without adding extra weight to the tool.

The tool is 7″ long and has a tapered front end for greater access in cramped spaces. The Chip-on-Board LED task light has four dimmable settings. The 360-degree ring of light eliminates shadows in the area that needs servicing.

The Ingersoll Rand W5133P-C1D2 has four power modes that operate at max reverse torque, so operators don’t need to switch settings or tools for different tasks. The four modes for forward control include:

  • Max Power: The max power setting reaches 280 foot-pounds of torque, so technicians do not have to switch tools when tightening bolts.
  • Mid Power: This setting tightens fasteners at up to 230 foot-pounds of torque for tasks that don’t require max torque speeds.
  • Wrench Tight: Instead of changing to a hand wrench, operators can use the wrench tight setting to tighten fasteners at 10-to-24 foot-pounds of torque. In this setting, the tool automatically shuts off so that bolts are not over-torqued.
  • Hand Tight: The hand tight setting turns slowly, creating a snug fit for light tasks at two to nine foot-pounds of torque. When the tool reaches the point of impact, it shuts off to avoid over-torqued fasteners.

The Ingersoll Rand W5133P-C1D2 withstands repeated drops and exposure to harsh fluids. The chemical-resistant composite housing and patented steel-reinforced frame increase durability. The spark-free brushless technology and reinforced bushing increase the lifespan of the motor.

The 1,200-lumen smart light is fully controllable via Bluetooth, delivering up to 17.3 hours of work lighting on a single 18V battery

Controlling an area light shining over the entire jobsite can be tricky when it’s strapped to the rafters. That’s why Bosch is introducing the future of connected lighting. The Bosch GLI18V-1200C 18V Connected LED Area Light with Bluetooth® offers users full control over the smart light using a mobile device. Pros can now turn the light on and off remotely, dim the light to the desired brightness, put it on a timer and even check the battery – all from the free Bosch Toolbox App.

The Bosch GLI18V-1200CN is not only smart, but comes packed with features to withstand the most rugged jobsite conditions. Along with the area light’s protective roll cage, the tool’s IP64-rated cover is resistant to dust and water damage. Plus, it has five setup positions so pros can find the ideal angle to effectively illuminate a large work area.

The light produces 1,200 lumens, which is enough to illuminate dark work areas like corners or rooms. Despite its power, the GLI18V-1200C is compact enough to be a carry-along area light. It also has a fade-in function, allowing the light to slowly increase to full brightness to lessen the chances of temporary “flash blindness.”

In addition, the cordless Bosch GLI18V-1200C is a light that lasts through the day. It works with the rechargeable Bosch 18V system to provide outstanding runtime. The light intensity is adjustable, with a lower, dimmed mode setting for longer runtime – up to 17.3 hours on a CORE18V 8.0 Ah battery (not included). At 1,200 lumens, it provides 10.6 hours on the Bosch 8.0 Ah battery.

“Bosch is always looking to create a smarter, more efficient jobsite, and the new 1,200-lumen smart light does just that,” said Charlie Chiappetta, product manager, Bosch Power Tools. “Not only does the GLI18V-1200C make it easier than ever to illuminate an entire jobsite at the touch of a button, the CORE18V battery gives it enough juice to last throughout the workday, even at its brightest setting.”

The free Bosch Toolbox App, which is available at the Apple App Store® or the Google Play® Store, works with  both Android and Apple devices and allows connection to the area light from up to 100 ft. away via Bluetooth.

The Bosch GLI18V-1200C LED Area Light is a bare tool; the battery and charger are sold separately.

The most-used tool in the toolbox just became one of the toughest. Introducing the new OLFA® MXP-L and MXP-AL Die-Cast Aluminum Utility Knives, specifically designed from one uniform piece of durable aluminum. The die-cast handles add a level of precision to the design that increases both user comfort and the knives’ rugged durability.

Covering the stainless steel blade channel, the die-cast aluminum knife handles feature an anti-slip grip that wraps around the back of the tool. The knives come in two variations. The MXP-L features OLFA’s classic ratchet locking mechanism, with an oversized design for greater control. It’s designed as a single piece of metal, pressure-formed for durability.

The MXP-AL features an oversized auto-locking mechanism that slides to the perfect length and stays put. Its ultra-slim profile doesn’t interfere with the grip, making it comfortable to hold in the hand. Both knives also feature a tethering hole at the end of the tool, so securing it is easy.

“The aluminum die-cast bodies of the MXP-L and MXP-AL bring a new level of lightweight durability to our lineup,” said OLFA Brand Manager Cassie Donnelly. “The oversized grip fits comfortably in your hand and the rubber wrap-around grip helps wick moisture away from the handle and maintain control of the knife. Plus, their all-metal design makes them more durable than ever before.”

Both knives feature the OLFA Ultra-Sharp Black Premium blades, which are double-honed to be 25 percent sharper than standard silver blades. This precise angle and initial sharpness delivers a super clean and smooth cut for almost any application. Plus, each blade comes with eight snap-off edges, so the knife is always sharp. Each new cutting edge is quickly accessible without a user ever having to fumble with a blade change: Simply snap off the blade for a fresh cutting edge. Changing out full blades is always quick, easy and tool free.

OLFA® MXP-L and MXP-AL Die-Cast Aluminum Utility Knives are available in February 2019; contact your OLFA representative or call 1-800-962-OLFA (6532) for more information.

Milwaukee Introduces Line of Framing & Rafter Squares

Milwaukee Tool has announced its first line of MEP focused framing and rafter squares.  Designed from the ground-up to address common user frustrations, the new Milwaukee® Squares are built to provide superior durability and versatility. The squares include features unique to the industry such as scribe notches on the framing square and a magnetic heel on the rafter square.

magnetic rafter squareMagnetic Rafter Square [speed square]

The 7” Magnetic Rafter Square is built with rare earth magnets in the heel which provides a secure hold on all ferrous surfaces. The 1-1/8” heel provides more grip while working with rounded stock. Moreover, the tool also has the most precision scribe notches (1” – 6”) of any rafter in its class, as well as a 1” pipe cutting jack. This feature is new-to-world for rafter squares, helping to elevate and tightly hold materials such as conduit, copper, and rigid pipe during cuts.  The square is also made with more aluminum for extreme durability.  This is the only rafter square truly designed for steel stud framers and mechanical, electrical & plumbing contractors.

Totally new framing square design

New framing square for pipe fittingThe 16” x 24” Aluminum Framing Square is constructed of more aluminum, reinforcing the frame and delivering the durability of steel but keeping it lightweight. This square is also the first framing square to feature precision scribe notches for marking in 1/2″ and 1/4″ increments. Finally, highly visible laser-etched markings will not wear off, providing trusted accuracy throughout the life of the square.

Warranty

Made in the USA*, the new Milwaukee® Framing and Rafter Squares are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty. Milwaukee continues to add to their layout & measurement offering.

RIDGID, tools, press in-branch connectorQuickly make 3⁄4-inch branch connections on black steel pipe with the new RIDGID® Press-In Branch Connector Tool Kit being introduced at AHR Expo today. Significantly faster when compared to traditional welding, it is ideal for adding gauges or 3⁄4-inch pipe in chilled water, compressed air, industrial gas and low-pressure steam system applications.

Plumbers, pipe fabricators and maintenance professionals working on 11⁄2-inch to 6-inch black steel pipe will not only save time but also eliminate fire risk and avoid the additional expense of a fire safety watch.

The Connector Tool Kit includes an expander that fits all RIDGID standard press tools, including the RP 340, RP 330, RP 320 and CT-400, and works with Viega Press-In Branch Adapter Fittings. The kit also contains fitting positioning guides, an arbor shaft assembly, drill guide, and vacuum adapters.

The hole saw arbor attaches to standard drills, includes an M27 hole saw, and is designed to prevent the saw from penetrating both sides of the pipe; while the vacuum adapters allow for connection to standard size vacuum hoses to help reduce steel chips falling into the pipe while making the branch. Both the positioning and drill guides ensure proper placement against the pipe.

RIDGID, tools, press in-branch connector

The RIDGID Press-In Branch Connector Tool Kit takes our standard press tools up a notch. This accessory kit not only reduces complexity, but more importantly, it speeds up the process when creating branches,” said Rob Trefz, RIDGID Director of Business Development and Marketing. Particularly in industrial gas settings, when you can eliminate flames and a fire watch, it provides significant project cost savings.

The Connector Tool Kit comes with the RIDGID Full Lifetime Warranty.
