High-performing e-80SCXL meets competitive industry demands, offers cost and time savings

In continuation of Xylem’s pledge to sustainability and Building Better, the new Series e-80SCXL pump enhances Bell & Gossett’s e-80SC vertical in-line pump portfolio to deliver best-in-class hydraulic performance with industry-leading efficiencies. Ideal for higher flow and head applications such as hydronic heating and cooling systems, light industrial processes and general service, the e-80SCXL features several seal options and the addition of 10 large in-line pumps. The vertical configuration results in a straightforward installation, while its high-head application offers low operating and maintenance costs.

“The addition of the e-80SCXL to the e-80SC pump family allows us to meet the competitive and growing demands of the industry for more efficient and sustainable solutions,” said Brian Thomas, assistant product manager, Xylem. “In addition to providing efficient pumping across the widest range of operational conditions, the space-saving e-80SCXL features optimized performance improvements and a compact design to improve overall productivity.”

The Series e-80SCXL Pump accepts 60 hz TC-face NEMA Premium motors. Balanced to ANSI Grade 6.3, stainless steel impellers improve sustainable hydraulic performance, resist chemicals and reduce corrosion, providing years of quiet performance and trouble-free service. The mechanical seal bears a compact Rotating Unitized Seal Head design for easy seal removal and replacement. Bellows are pressure supported without creases or folds, extending the life of the seal. The pump also features a positive metal-to-metal drive system reducing torsional stress and optional flange mounting to provide temporary support during installation. Available in 10 new sizes, including: 8×16, 10×13, 10×15, 10×16, 12×11, 12×17, 14×14, 14×16, 14×18 and 18×15 operating at 1800 RPM, 200, 230/460 and 575V, 3 Phase.

All models come standard with the optimyze™ modular condition monitoring solution, sensing system vibrations and temperature to provide predictive maintenance before critical issues occur.

The Series e-80SCXL Split Coupled Vertical In-Line Centrifugal Pump is currently available in ESP-SystemwizeTM. For additional information or assistance with a quote, please contact your local Bell & Gossett representative at https://bellgossett.com/findarep.

Irvine, Calif. — Navien has started shipping the new NHW-A non-condensing tankless water heater. NHW-A is available in two configurations: NHW-AI for interior installations and NHW-AE for exterior installations. Both the NHW-AI and NHW-AE are offered in 160,000 BTU/h, 180,000 BTU/h and 199,900 BTU/h sizes in either natural gas or liquid propane fuel operation.

NHW-A is the first and only non-condensing tankless water heater to feature the patented ComfortFlow® recirculation pump and buffer tank originally introduced in the NPE-A condensing tankless water heater in 2012. ComfortFlow helps eliminate the “cold water sandwich” effect and resolves the issue of low flow rates found in other tankless water heaters.

ComfortFlow also reduces the wait time for hot water by allowing internal or external recirculation without the need for external parts or controls. Users can program recirculation timing for either always-on, a set weekly schedule using the remote controller, or use the intelligent setting that learns the user’s hot water patterns and automatically adjusts the recirculation schedule to match.

“NHW-A with ComfortFlow brings high-efficiency water heating with built-in recirculation to more customers,” said Chia Lin, Water Heater Product Manager at Navien. “In the past, customers who were restricted to non-condensing products had to purchase expensive external pumps along with their tankless water heaters to achieve what the NHW-A now offers already built into the unit.”

Like the NPN, Navien’s first non-condensing product, the NHW-A utilizes the proprietary NaviTech® stainless steel heat exchanger and burner for extreme durability and low NOx emissions. The NHW-A will also utilize the 3-inch by 5-inch NaviVent® concentric venting materials that were originally launched with the NPN.

Fast Trak, a prefabricated trapeze suspension solution consisting of vertical tracks and horizontal brackets, brings great speed of installation to the jobsite, and has become an important tool in driving efficiencies on installations throughout the US.

“Our Fast Trak system supports the modern‐day construction sector and its drive to use products that are efficient, safe for both installers and ongoing maintenance teams, and have a fast, straightforward installation process,” said Mark Kimberley, Construction Product Manager at Gripple. “Fast Trak helps MEP contractors and installers deliver their portion of the project to agreed timescales and budgets. In fact, because of the ease and accessibility of the system, many projects have been able to continue efficiently, even with staffing challenges. Also, tool free height adjustments can be made with ease, allowing contractors to complete installations faster compared to more traditional rod and strut methods of suspension.”

The Fast Trak Bracket comes in stocked sizes from 9 inches to 61 inches, has attachment points on all 4 faces, and can be suspended from the tracks in any of those 4 orientations. The bracket is also compatible with traditional strut accessories, as well as Gripple’s quick‐twist accessories. But the main feature of the bracket is the push‐button latch at both ends, that allows the bracket
to slide up and down the tracks without the need for tools.

The ladder‐style tracks come in 8 inch to 59 inch lengths, allow the Fast Trak brackets to be installed in 3/8” increments along the track, and also enable the double‐tiering of brackets, to increase the number of services per run. When the installation is finished, excess tracks can be bent under the bracket or snapped off, providing a neat and tidy finish with minimal to zero waste, all while delivering rigidity and high load ratings.

Fast Trak is UL 2239 listed, with load ratings of up to 440 lbs per trapeze for Electrical applications. Fast Trak is also ICC‐ESR‐4622 and IAPMO approved and MFMA compliant, with load ratings up to 650 lbs per trapeze for Mechanical applications.

“Fast Trak has proven to be a straightforward yet ingenious solution for suspending electrical containment, mechanical piping, plumbing, ductwork, and mechanical services in an efficient, safe, and reliable way,” said Mark. “The fact that it continues to deliver efficiencies in so many ways make it a hugely attractive product for contractors who are keen to manage costs and
resources effectively and deliver an MEP system that is truly fit for modern construction projects.”

Manufactured by Gripple, Fast Trak is a zero‐waste product which consists of metal tracks and strut‐like brackets which arrive on site in pre‐cut lengths, offering total embodied CO2 savings.
