When it comes to delivering safe, heated water in commercial applications, such as schools, hospitals, hotels and multi-family living facilities, the importance of reliable and precise temperature control is a must. But without a precise mixing valve solution, hot water availability can be hindered by big variances and inconsistencies, creating frustration and safety issues for building occupants. Fortunately, Bradley’s new Navigator® digital mixing valve (DMV) ensures exact water temperature, hot water system safety, as well as thermal disinfection.
Engineered with advanced temperature control technology, this new DMV provides precise and reliable temperature control, and programmable features. Designed to deliver and maintain water temperatures within +/- 3º F, even during low and zero demand periods, this digital valve maximizes safety and efficiency for domestic hot water systems.
The valve’s intuitive controller allows proactive temperature control by setting the temperature for normal operation and scheduling periodic thermal disinfection cycles. Data logging and BMS integration allow for convenient remote monitoring to ensure the proper water temperature is being distributed, eliminating the risk of elevated temperatures and scalding.
DMV videos:

- How to manually run a thermal disinfection cycle
- How to program automatic thermal disinfection cycles
Customizable thermal disinfection system
To keep water clean and safe, the automatic daily ball rotation feature removes scale to keep the valve running smoothly while reducing cleaning and maintenance time. The valve’s exclusive, programmable weekly thermal disinfection system — with four programmable settings — raises temperatures to kill Legionella and other harmful bacteria. After disinfection, the system will automatically flush hot water and reset for daily use.
The tight temperature control, remote monitoring capabilities, and easy-to-program thermal disinfection system make the valve ideal for larger domestic hot water systems such as schools, hospitals, hotels and apartment buildings.
The S59-5000 series valve is available in five models ranging from 3/4” to 2” in size. Two valves can also be combined into a manifold system to deliver even higher flow rates up to 409 GPM at 20 psi drop.
Each model comes complete with valve, actuator, mixed and return sensors, mixed temperature gauge and controller for a comprehensive ready-to-install package. All materials are 100% factory assembled and tested.

Caleffi North America, Inc., a leader in state-of-the-art engineered solutions for hydronic and plumbing systems, is pleased to announce an advanced technology named Posi-Stop™ that incorporates an embedded O-ring into a product’s union connection. This advanced design results in a consistent and superior seal over the broad range of conditions encountered in plumbing and hydronic applications, streamlining installation and service.
When the contractor tightens the union nut, an EPDM O-ring seal compresses to a controlled value by way of a positive metal-to-metal stop. This controls the O-ring compression to a precise, repeatable value. The result? A field proven, reliable seal connection – valve, after valve, after valve, after valve.
Posi-Stop simplifies serviceability. The installer can remove, service, and reinstall the valve with the SAME union connections, optimizing service trips. The embedded O-ring provides a reliable seal to liquid and air, allowing contractors to pneumatically test systems with air in order to identify leaks before putting the system into operation.
To identify a product utilizing the Posi-Stop union connection, look for the Posi-Stop name on the product box. For more information, please visit our website at www.caleffi.us.
