tekmar Control Systems is proud to announce that its Boiler Control 284, the next generation in control for mixed boiler plant operations, has been presented with Honorable Mention in the Building Automation Category of the 2014 AHR Expo Innovation Awards.
The Boiler Control 284 is designed to operate up to four boilers to accurately maintain a target water temperature and communicates directly with building automation systems through BACnet® or Modbus®. The new control will be on display in the Watts Water Booth #2631 at the AHR Expo January 21-‐23, 2014, in New York, NY.
“We’re honored to be recognized by a panel of experts in the HVACR industry,” said Nathan Floyd, General Manager for tekmar Control Systems. “It is because of the hard work and dedication of each person at tekmar that we are celebrating this success today, and we will continue our efforts to focus on innovative system solutions for HVAC.”
The Boiler Control 284 provides complete integration of the mechanical equipment in the heating plant for
operating multiple heating loads. It controls both condensing and non-condensing boilers that are modulating, single
stage, or two stage to provide a flexible, cost-effective mixed boiler plant operation.
The connection to building automation systems (BAS) allows installers and building managers to remotely monitor
boiler operation, plant temperatures, system pressure, flow rates, and pump operation using the BAS network.
The 284 is also designed to prolong the lifespan of equipment. Primary pump sequencing prevents downtime by automatically operating a second pump if a failure is detected. Other reliability features include pump exercising, equal run-time rotation, and boiler minimum & maximum temperature settings.
