Johnson Controls recently presented Coleman Outfitter all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) to winners of the Coleman Heating and Air Conditioning Extreme Challenge Sweepstakes. Each purchase of an extended warranty during the sweepstakes period entered a Johnstone Supply distributor and its Coleman Liberties, Liberties Plus or Certified Comfort Expert (CCE) dealer in the grand prize drawing for a Coleman Outfitter 700 ATV. Second prize was a Trail Tamer 500 ATV from Coleman PowerSports.

The grand prize went to Nick and Mark Scarnecchia, owners of Green Country Service Heating and Cooling, Raleigh, North Carolina, and its distributor, the Johnstone Raleigh Group. Second-place went to Chuck Lankford, president of Premier Services Group, Inc., Knoxville, Tennessee, and the Johnstone Knoxville Group.

Excited about winning the ATV, Lankford shared how the extended warranty program improves customer service. “It was a great way to give the homeowner some peace of mind that in addition to the normal equipment warranty, the cost of labor for repairs and/or replacements would also be covered – making it more of a worry-free experience for our customers,” said Lankford. “We will always offer the 10-year labor warranty, as it’s a great value and also a nice, great selling feature.”

According to Todd Smith, sales manager at the Johnstone Raleigh Group, the winning distributor’s ATV will be part of an event planned for later in the year. “We’re happy to accept this prize, as are Nick and Mark,” he said. “The sweepstakes definitely draws attention to Coleman’s user-friendly extended warranty program and the value it offers both contractors and homeowners.”

Ron Carter, vice president of sales at the Johnstone Knoxville Group, agreed, adding, “The competition was a huge success. It created a win for the homeowner, the dealer, the distributor and Coleman by providing increased awareness and protection for one of the most valuable and most affordable extended labor warranty programs available. Additionally, the Coleman program is an in-house program instead of through a third-party, which makes the purchase less expensive and provides the consumer with a more secure and protected program.”

According to Tim Brusseau, Johnson Controls Unitary Products Group strategic distribution account manager, the goal of the sweepstakes was to encourage Coleman Liberties, Liberties Plus and Certified Comfort Expert (CCE) dealers to provide more customers with extended warranties, which results in happier consumers and longtime customers for Coleman dealers.

“The successful contest significantly increased the number of extended warranties purchased over 2013,” he said, “and it highlighted a dealer-friendly program that exemplifies the quality and reputation that Johnson Controls Unitary Products Group has built into its products.”
