During the AHR Show in New York, Grundfos launched Ecademy, an innovative online training platform for pros in the pump industry. Targeted for consulting engineers, installers, professional end users, service partners and wholesale distributors, Ecademy is a training series that complements Grundfos’ high-quality pumps though a program that provides easy-to-access education before, during and after the purchase process. Ecademy makes the customer an expert in product specification, operation and troubleshooting.

Clint Andrews (l) and Helen Mubarak, public affairs coordinator, Grundfos North America, demonstrate the Ecademy set-up at the AHR Show.

According to Clint Andrews, technical training manager for Grundfos North America, and manager overseeing the Ecademy project, Ecademy is driven by Grundfos’ desire to get closer to its customers. The open forum platform allows Grundfos to reach customers with training and education whenever they want and wherever they are. “Training is essential to fostering the adoption of innovative technology and lifting the industry as a whole. We want to educate our market, get closer to our customers and, as a result, sell more pumps,” says Andrews.

The Ecademy online training platform allows Grundfos to virtually accompany its customers to a job site or a client meeting via their mobile devices.

The platform features global as well as local content in a variety of formats such as videos, slideshows, articles and interactive tools. Through the portal, customers will be able to access classes on topics such as products, applications and industry standards.

“Ecademy allows us to get closer to our customers by providing training across our markets which, in turn, supports our growth objectives. We are positioned to reach potential students through a combination of learning from the successful European roadmap, excellent North American training content, a comprehensive marketing and promotion plan, and strong administration,” says Dennis Wierzbicki, president of Grundfos USA.

Dennis Wierzbicki, president of Grundfos USA, kicks off the AHR Show with a press conference announcing Ecademy, among other things.

A proven concept, Grundfos Ecademy was launched in 2006 in Europe, where it now boasts 30,000 members and approximately 10% of the continent’s installers.

“Ecademy has been received quite well so far and we are confident that the coming months will see even more success. We are continually adding content and users,” said Andrews.
