Utica, N.Y. — U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) announced at ECR International’s Utica manufacturing facility, her “Made in America Manufacturing Act” which will help revitalize manufacturing in New York State. “It’s time to see ‘Made In America’ again starting right here in New York,” said Senator Gillibrand

ECR International has been manufacturing boilers, furnaces and air conditioning products in Utica and Dunkirk New York for 85 years and we intend to be here for at least another 85 years; Senator Gillibrand’s legislation will help us achieve that goal,” commented Ron Passafaro, President and CEO of ECR International.  “We have a long standing commitment to our communities, employees and customers and we welcome the Senator’s efforts in assisting us in serving them all.”

Gillibrand toured ECR’s facility where ECR made the commitment to stay in New York five years ago and invested over 14 million dollars in facility additions, new equipment and renovations.  One of these investments is ECR’s state of the art Engineering R&D labs where ECR has developed such products as the Utica SSC and Dunkirk VLT condensing boilers which, with an AFUE of 95%, are some of the most efficient boilers in the marketplace.

“It’s time to see ‘Made In America’ again starting right here in New York,” said Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.  “I believe New York’s great manufacturing communities are well positioned to compete for funding that would help carry out their innovative ideas to spark more growth in high-tech manufacturing sectors, jumpstart new businesses, and create good-paying jobs right here where we need them the most.”
