David Dugger, president and CEO of ShoffnerKalthoff Mechanical Electric Service, Knoxville, Tenn., has been installed as the 2012-2013 Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors—National Association (PHCC) president. The swearing-in ceremony was held Oct. 5 in Philadelphia, Pa., during CONNECT 2012, the organization’s annual convention.
Dugger started his mechanical construction career in 1971 as a sheet metal and piping apprentice while studying mechanical engineering at the University of Tennessee. His career has included numerous management positions, as well as project management and estimating. He has worked on an expansive variety of projects, including manufacturing facilities, institutional, commercial office and mixed-use buildings. He holds licenses in more than 12 states and has extensive experience in mechanical design/build construction.
Prior to serving as president-elect in 2012, Dugger was named the 2004 Trane/PHCC HVAC Contractor of the Year for his dedication to upgrading the industry through education.
He served on the 2009-2010 PHCC—National Association Board of Directors and in fall 2010, he was elected vice president of the national association.
A longtime advocate for PHCC education initiatives, Dugger was named to PHCC Educational Foundation’s 2010-2011 Board of Directors. David and his wife, Jan, were named Benefactor Members of the PHCC—National Association Educational Foundation Board of Governors in 2010. He currently serves as chair of the Educational Foundation HVACR Apprentice and Journeyman Training Committee Chair and co-chair of the Invest in Your Future program that supports educational and scholarship programs.
