Danze Races for Lymphoma Cure

Woodridge, Ill. — Danze, Inc., and its employees, continues their tireless philanthropic work to find a cure for lymphoma – this time by hosting a half marathon benefiting the Lymphoma Research Foundation.

The Danze Half Marathon, which took place in Seekonk, Massachusetts in November, had nearly 60 participants and earned thousands of dollars for further lymphoma research.

“I wanted to find a way to support this great cause,” says Gary Cardono, Danze Director of Hospitality Sales and the race’s founder. “It’s part of Globe Union’s (Danze’s parent company) core value to be a positive force in the world. I’ve seen many people who have been touched by this disease.  I hope my efforts will positively impact those who are affected by this and other cancers.”

Cardono, an avid biker and runner, solicited the help of long-time friend Gary Menissian from Ocean State Multi-sport to organize and run the event. The goal is to create a series of fundraising races and turn them into national qualifiers. “I want to help find a cure,” he adds. “This is just the beginning.”

The next Danze event, a 5k road race, is slated for March 31, 2013, at Francis Farm in Rehoboth, MA. For more information, visit www.oceanstatemultisport.com. Once again, all proceeds will benefit the Lymphoma Research Foundation (www.lymphoma.org).
