International Code Council Chief Executive Officer Rick Weiland announced today he will be leaving the association to pursue other opportunities. Weiland has been CEO since 2006, after serving as Chief Operating Officer from 2003-2006.
During his tenure at the Code Council, Weiland was instrumental in guiding the organization through the critical early years after the 2003 consolidation of three regional code organizations. Weiland forged new partnerships and alliances that expanded the Code Council’s influence, and he successfully led ICC through the difficult times brought on by the recession in 2008.
“Rick guided the Code Council through many challenging years and he leaves big shoes to fill,” said ICC Board President Bill Dupler. “The organization is much stronger than it was when he first joined ICC back in 2003 and his contributions have helped put us in a position to see even greater success in the future.” Dupler added, “Rick’s entire career has been about public service, and I know he will continue to make contributions in his future endeavors. All of us at ICC wish him the best.” For more info, visit www.iccsafe.org.
