- Manchester West High School to support the implementation of Project Lead the Way engineering programs – $15,134
- Londonderry High School to support Mathematics Learning via Flipped Learning – $4,866
In her remarks after the presentation of the grants Senator Ayotte said, “These grants are critical because we have a real gap in our country right now when it comes to STEM education. There is a need to try to bring the excitement back to the classroom for STEM education…I commend Bosch for giving support to our local schools for innovative programs to get more of our kids involved with STEM education.”
The STEM grants provided were made possible by the Bosch Community Fund, a corporate foundation that provides financial support to assist individual Bosch operating divisions in charitable giving within those divisions’ local communities. The Bosch Community Fund provides over $3 million annually in grants to various community non-profit organizations and educational institutions. The Fund focuses primarily on the enrichment of STEM education and the advancement of environmental sustainability initiatives.
During her visit Senator Ayotte toured the Bosch facility with Bosch Thermotechnology North America President Richard Soper and met many employees. Bosch employs almost 100 associates in its Londonderry headquarters near the Manchester International Airport. The building houses Bosch’s executive and administrative offices that support marketing, sales, customer service and technical support functions, as well as a warehouse, technical training space and a live demonstration center for industry professionals.
