ARLINGTON, Va. — The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) has awarded reaccreditation status to the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). IACET authorized providers are the only organizations approved to offer IACET continuing education units (CEUs). The accreditation period extends for five years, and includes select programs offered or created during that time.
“Education is critical to enabling our members to keep up with ever-changing construction technologies and techniques,” said Stephen Sandherr, AGC’s chief executive officer. “This renewed partnership demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest quality education and training programs possible.”
In 2012, AGC provided over 2,000 members with the training programs needed to receive continuing education credits. Since joining with IACET in 2007, AGC has trained over 25,000 construction professionals.
“We are pleased to continue our relationship with AGC as an authorized provider,” said Michael Todd Shinholster, president of IACET and founder and principal consultant of Culture Bridge and a lecturer of international business at Kennesaw State University in Woodstock, Ga. Shinholster added, “AGC joins nearly 650 organizations around the globe that have had their programs vetted by third-party experts in continuing education to ensure the highest possible standards are met.”
In order to achieve authorized provider accreditation, AGC completed a rigorous application process, including a review by an IACET site visitor, and successfully demonstrated adherence to the ANSI/IACET 1-2007 standard addressing the design, development, administration, and evaluation of its programs. AGC has pledged its continued compliance with the standard, and is authorized to use the IACET name and authorized provider logo on promotional course material. In addition, AGC is linked to the IACET website and is recognized as offering the highest quality continuing education and training programs.
The AGC represents more than 26,000 firms, including over 6,600 of America’s leading general contractors, over 9,300 specialty contracting firms, and more than 10,000 service providers and suppliers. For more information, visit www.agc.org.
