The CleanAlert FILTERSCAN Air Filter Clog Detector provides visual, audible and remote alerts that a filter needs servicing by monitoring changes in differential pressure in a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system. By taking the guesswork out of servicing filters, the FILTERSCAN will optimize filter life while helping home and business owners avoid higher energy bills, compromised air quality and costly repairs to their HVAC systems.
Measuring 6 inches x 4-5/8 inches x 1-1/2 inches, the FILTERSCAN unit incorporates an audible beeper and a green-yellow-red LED light to indicate that the pressure across a filter has reached a specified, preset level, triggering the need for servicing. When connected to a remote device, the FILTERSCAN also provides a 5 VDC (volts of direct current) output to indicate that filter servicing is required. Optional wireless models of the FILTERSCAN, including a wall-mounted receiver that can be positioned up to 100 feet away, are also available.
Ideal for both commercial and residential applications, the FILTERSCAN:
automatically compensates for changes in system blower speed;
can be installed upstream, downstream or differentially across a filter; and
works with single-speed, multi-speed and most variable air volume (VAV) HVAC systems.
