In 1942, NIBCO began manufacturing ball valves—heavy-walled bronze castings with
flanged bonnet joints, flanged pipe ends and Monel stems.
In 2020, representing a giant leap in innovation, NIBCO reimagined the ball valve,
introducing its lead-free 585HP (high-performance) bronze ball valves. With patented
laser-welded construction to eliminate the threaded body-to-body-end connection,
higher operating pressures and temperatures were achieved. A reversible handle, large
packing nut, and triple-sealed stem combined to make it easy to install, durable, and
dependable.
