First Look: ADEY MagnaCleanse

As we work out our first few installs of the the ADEY MagnaCleanse I wanted to share a few quick videos ProStaff’er Andy Mickelson has posted on his Instagram account. Andy has a older radiant system he’s been working on in Montana that has thousands of feet of Onyx tubing and some major corrosion with a terrible buildup of iron oxide within the heating solution.

The ADEY products; the MagnaClean magnetic filter, MagnaCleanse magnetic filter flush station and chemicals all work together to filter an entire hydronic system of efficiency-robbing elements. The magnetic sludge, as you’ll see in the short 60 second video posts can cause failure of system components such as circulators, valves, air eliminators and flow controls; depending on the type of heat-exchanger used at the heat source the debris can even cause total failure from restricted flow and over-heating.  Today we installed and reviewed the @adey_na #magnaclean Filter and #magnacleanse rapid flush kit. This is the heating system we posted a video of a nasty water sample from a few months back. @mechanicalhub and I meet the good folks at @adey_pro at the #ahr2018 in Chicago and learned about this system.  Day 2's clean up with the @adey_na #magnacleanse. After about 18 hours of running, we got a pretty good collection of iron out of this system. The water is significantly cleaner than it was yesterday. #boilerman #boiler #magneticfilter #adey #hydronics

 So to keep this system clean up moving along, I found that I had to relocate the @adey_na #magnacleanse rapid filter to the secondary side of our radiant system. By nature of design the variable speed injection circuit transfers a very small amount of water to and from the primary loop, so after a couple of days of filtering this system, I still had a large amount of devris in the secondary loop. So we picked up some cam lock fittings, that allowed me to connect the included hose to a boiler drain. #prostaff #magnaclean #magneticfilter #boilerman #boiler #hydronic @mechanicalhub
