Milwaukee has added another M18 powered pipe threader. This time the new entry is a compact model w/ their famed ONE-KEY technology and a its own lightweight, self-branded die sets. Catalog# 2870-22 is the full kit as tested, it include the aluminum dies for threading 1/2″ to 1-1/4″ iron pipe.

When compared to the 2019 released M18 FUEL Threader w/ ONE-KEY (standard size) the compact tool uses a different style of die interface whereas the #2874-22 threader accepts RIDGID 12R style dies which most plumbing and HVAC contractors already own.

A new lightweight aluminum dies set is also available for the standard size #2874 tool as well. This new set is the 12R style but weighing in at 50% of the cast steel dies that have longtime been part of the pipe threading landscape.
