Leadership at Uponor North America sat on the planning committee and helped develop the agenda for the meeting. Additionally, Uponor North America’s president, Bill Gray, was joined by representatives from 3M and Toro to speak on a panel addressing intelligent business methodologies to modernize innovation in water. The smart water panel addressed how businesses are adapting to the increasing pace of the water industry by exploring new ways to create business agility through investing, strategic partnerships and ecosystem alignment.

The smart water panel focused on several key ideas, including:

Water is the key issue for the 21st century. There simply isn’t any more easily accessible water to be found, but populations keep growing. The only solution is to innovate.
We need to gain a better understanding of what we use water for and quantify that usage. When we measure, we can improve what we measure.
We need to shift from preventative to curative solutions. We need to think about problems and what technology can be used to solve them.
