The annual holiday on October 7 will also applaud industry workers who make it all possible.
Richmond, Va. — The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) is proud to announce the third annual National Propane Day on October 7, 2024 — an opportunity to celebrate propane’s essential role in powering the everyday lives of Americans nationwide.
On National Propane Day, PERC is raising awareness of propane’s versatile applications and honoring the hardworking individuals in the propane industry who ensure that the clean energy source is delivered safely and efficiently.
“Propane is the cornerstone of supporting reliable and sustainable infrastructure,” said Bert Warner, director of commercial business development at PERC. “It supports critical systems, from heating to backup power, and offers the flexibility needed to meet complex project requirements while supporting sustainability goals.”
As energy resiliency and sustainability remain a top priority for engineers and specifiers, PERC encourages the industry to explore propane’s benefits — particularly how it complements renewable energy sources like wind and solar.
PERC president and CEO Tucker Perkins adds that propane has a proven track record for industry professionals who are committed to reliable, efficient, and sustainable infrastructure.
“We’ve seen propane’s benefits in action in this industry; commercial propane furnaces can emit up to 75% less nitrogen oxide (NOx) than oil furnaces, and propane tankless water heaters offer thermal efficiency ratings as high as 99%,” said Perkins. “It’s a sustainable and reliable energy solution that keeps businesses, hospitals, hotels, and other critical services running smoothly, safely, and efficiently.”
On October 7th, communities, businesses, and propane advocates across the country will join the Propane Council in celebrating National Propane Day.
