HVAC Great Pat Dennis Passes Away

Patrick (Pat) F. Dennis, 69, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 18, at his home in Manassas, Virginia.

“Pat was inspiration and mentor to many in the northern Virginia HVAC community over the past 40+ years,” says Christopher Squires, HVAC Technical Service & Sales Support, Thos. Somerville Co.

Pat was born in Washington D.C. on October 15, 1949 to the late Orlo G. and Dorothy E. (Stewart) Dennis. Pat graduated from W.T. Woodson High School in Fairfax, Virginia in 1968. He earned an Honorary Bachelor of Science degree with a Major in Mechanical Technology. Pat was successful in the HVAC business earning the respect of both peers and customers. He started P.F. Dennis Air Conditioning and Heating which later became All-County Air Conditioning. His passion for education and integrity in the HVAC field led him to his 25 year teaching position at Northern Virginia Community College. He was often named Teacher of the Year. Pat enjoyed traveling, spending time in Montross, Virginia fishing, boating and crabbing with family and friends. He was loved by many.

“Pat Dennis gave a lot to the HVAC trade by teaching and running the trade school at NOVA (Northern Virginia Community College). Plus, he dedicated his life to the trade through his longtime Manassas-based HVAC business, All-County Heating & Air Conditioning. He was a great guy,” says Jeff Riley, co-owner, COREDRON.

Pat is preceded in death by his brother Jack and sister-in-law Virginia Dennis.

He is survived by cherished family members; his wife of 43 years, Pamela J. Dennis, brother Denny Dennis, son James Dennis (Lori), daughters Jennifer Squires (Chris), Wendy O’Brien and Amanda Frikker (Nick); grandchildren Rane and Evan Squires, Howie and Aubrey Dennis, Stella O’Brien, Emma Frikker; niece Sarah Radcliffe (Ian), nephews Bill Dennis (Diane), Rob Dennis (Julie); grandnephews Colin and Declan Radcliffe; grandnieces Mackenzie and Emma Radcliffe.
