Expanding its tankless water heater offering, A. O. Smith offers customers unparalleled installation flexibility

A. O. Smith, a leader in water heating and water treatment solutions, announces the launch of its Adapt™+ Condensing Gas Tankless Water Heaters with X3® Scale Prevention Technology. With new premium features, including an integrated recirculation pump and patented heat exchanger; enhanced installation flexibility and highly efficient performance, Adapt+ tankless meets the needs of busy contractors and homeowners alike.

Building on A. O. Smith’s legacy of innovation, this unit is the first tankless water heater designed and manufactured entirely by A. O. Smith. To enhance installation flexibility, the Adapt+ line offers two- and three-inch dual pipe venting, ½- and ¾-inch gas line options and universal indoor/outdoor installation.  A. O. Smith designed the units so they can be converted from natural gas to liquid propane in the field with an included kit. All of these features work together to provide plumbing professionals with unparalleled installation flexibility when working in the field. Plumbers now have a unit that conforms on the spot to fit their exact needs, no matter the install location, fuel type or existing venting.

“Innovation is at the heart of everything A. O. Smith does and the Adapt+ series is no different. When designing and manufacturing this product, flexibility was our top priority. We’re providing contractors with the ultimate hot water toolkit,” said Isaac Wilson, A. O. Smith tankless senior product manager. “We understand that contractors are not just in the field; they are also on the clock. With the Adapt+ line, contractors can meet a homeowner’s needs without having to go back to their wholesaler to get a different unit or without having to carry additional inventory in their truck— saving them both time and money.”

The Adapt+ tankless water heaters also include several high-end features that are frequently requested by homeowners, such as Wi-Fi capability for remote monitoring and peace of mind and an integrated recirculation pump that provides instant hot water and eliminates the time homeowners typically spend waiting at their fixture for the water to heat up.

Available in 160,000-; 180,000-, and 199,000-BTU/hr units, the Adapt+ line of water heaters fits a variety of needs. Plus, the unit is equipped with A. O. Smith’s patented X3® Scale Prevention Technology which inhibits scale build-up and corrosion to extend the life of the unit up to three times longer. With zero lifetime descaling maintenance, the Adapt+ tankless water heater meets the needs of busy installers and homeowners.  Units also qualify for numerous state and local rebates and are ENERGY STAR® certified.

Josam®, a Watts® brand, is expanding its Pre-Fab Base (-PFB) offering to include a wider range of drainage products, including floor drains, cleanouts, floor sinks, stainless-steel drains, and roof drains. Previously available only for the 30000 series, this extension simplifies installation across more applications.

The Pre-Fab Base allows installers to pre-set drain height and secure it before the concrete pour, making the process more efficient. For cast iron drains, cleanouts, and sinks, it attaches to the underside of the body, while stainless-steel drains connect through anchor tab holes. The open-bottom pan creates a void during the pour, providing easy access to pipe connections and adjustments later in construction.

Made from mild steel with an optional stainless-steel upgrade, the Pre-Fab Base comes with all necessary hardware for quick and secure installation.

Bradley Corporation, plumbing, emergency eyewash, emergency eyewash stations, Watts, plumbing perspective, mechanical hubBradley has introduced a new daylight drain option for its barrier-free cabinet mount eyewash, eye/face wash and combination units, expanding its suite of emergency fixture products.

The external daylight drain feature is designed to drain wastewater from the eye or eye/face wash out the front face of the unit instead of connecting to a building’s drainage system. This allows the unit to be used and tested without being connected to wastewater plumbing.

The barrier-free design of these models makes them fully accessible to people with physical disabilities while Bradley’s Halo eye/face wash provides the industry’s most effective washdown coverage and spray pattern.

“In addition to preventing contamination of sanitary sewer systems and supporting safe water management, these daylight drains offer multiple benefits to facilities, including cutting time and costs on installation and maximizing flexibility,” says Valerie Bonney, product manager, Bradley. “These fixtures are especially helpful for use in facilities where plumbing connections to sanitary or stormwater drains are not feasible or permitted.”

A variety of cabinet-concealed eyewash units, as well as recessed drench shower/eyewash units, are available, making them suitable for applications where space is limited. Vandal-resistant ceramic valves limit wear and tear on moving parts, providing dependability and long-lasting performance. The innovative design of the barrier-free cabinet mount units exceeds American National Standard Institute (ANSI) Z358.1 specifications.

Bradley’s exclusive Halo eyewash models, designed with fluid dynamics technology, have provided the most effective washdown coverage and spray pattern available for emergency use. In addition, this eyewash design includes an integral strainer to reduce debris in the water and prevent clogging. The self-draining sprayhead ensures no stagnant water remains for any bacteria to grow.

Franklin Electric Co., Inc. announced that its Little Giant brand is expanding its condensate removal product line with the addition of a series of condensate neutralizing products. The new products include an integrated condensate neutralizer media, helping to treat acidic condensate before it enters a residential plumbing system.

The Little Giant VCMA-20-NPTC Neutralizing Condensate Pump is driven by a 1/30 hp high-performance motor and features a specialized blend of neutralizing media made of calcite and magnesium oxide for the best neutralizing effect without clumping or clogging. An easy-to-remove clear cover allows for simple media changing and routine maintenance.

The NC-2 Series tube-style neutralizers from Little Giant feature integral unions with O-ring seals and snap-in mounting brackets. Little Giant offers three different models, accommodating both horizontal and vertical installation–as well as 220,000 and 300,000 BTU/hr of appliance input.  The neutralizing media-filled sack allows for easy removal for service and recharging to maintain the effective treatment of acidic condensate to prevent damage to a building’s infrastructure, local sewage systems and the environment.

Easy-to-install replacement media kits will be available for all four Little Giant models.
