Jim Godbout Plumbing & Heating Inc., in business for more than 30 years with 17 employees carrying licenses and certifications in plumbing, oil, gas, electricity, refrigeration, solar, geothermal, recently provided the plumbing and HVAC installation for a 4,200-sq.-ft. home—plus sun deck—in Kennebunk, Maine.
Godbout provided radiant heating and domestic hot water (DHW), as well as some hydro air. Included in the job was high-end plumbing for seven bathrooms. HVAC included American Standard air handlers and heat pumps installed on the roof due to the flood zone. “One of the challenges for the new construction project was that the home has to have everything above 100-year flood mark, keeping piping from freezing,” said Jim Godbout, president.
The Viessmann Vitodens 200 gas boiler installed in a very tight space.
The domestic hot water and radiant system is powered by a Viessmann Vitodens 200 gas boiler with a Viessmann Horicell 92-gallon water heater—installed in a very tight space—with a Taco control package. Also featured was Uponor Quik Trak panels and PEX-a tubing in a radiant heating system.
Also incorporated into the mechanicals are Taco Zone Sentry valves and a Taco iSeries motorized mixing valve for a low temperature loop. Pumps are a mix of Taco single speed and multiple speed 00 series, and Grundfos Alpha pumps.
Finally, Godbout installed Honeywell TrueSTEAM™ Humidification Systems and Wi-Fi 9000 thermostats. The Honeywell 9000 stats allows the homeowner to remotely monitor and manage home’s comfort and energy usage anytime, anywhere, and they can choose the programmable mode to save on annual heating and cooling costs.
