East Longmeadow, Mass. – hilmor®, innovative HVAC/R Tool Manufacturer, has announced the commencement of the third annual Retool Your Future Scholarship Contest. The contest has received more than a thousand student entries from hundreds of trade schools over the last two years since its origin, successfully supporting the next generation of HVAC/R technicians. Designed to help current and future HVAC/R students get top-of-the-line tools in their hands as they begin their careers, the scholarship contest awards six grand prizes consisting of a $5,000 scholarship, a trip to the 2016 AHR EXPO in Orlando, Fla., and innovative hilmor tools. Students can enter this year’s competition at www.RetoolYourFuture.com.
“We in the industry have a responsibility to encourage careers in HVAC/R, which is why we developed the Retool Your Future program,” said Andrea Halpin, senior manager, brand marketing, hilmor. “hilmor prides itself on bringing innovative tools to HVAC/R technicians, and the most important time to introduce these tools is when students are going through their training and preparing to enter the industry.”
Open to students in the U.S., and Canada, the scholarship program aids aspiring HVAC/R technicians in their endeavor to enter the field. Along with a $5,000 scholarship, winners will receive a hilmor HVAC/R Starter Kit with tools essential for beginning their career, a trip to the 2016 AHR EXPO in Orlando, Fla., and a hilmor Green Wall valued at $5,000 with more than 40 HVAC/R tools, donated to their school.
To enter the Retool Your Future contest, students who are currently enrolled in or have applied for admission into an established, recognized HVAC/R school, can submit a 250-word essay explaining how the HVAC/R industry will “retool their life.” The contest opens August 1, 2015 and closes October 31, 2015.
