Houston — Robert (Bob) Taylor has been named vice president of Business Development at Gowan, Inc. He replaces Thomas Hazel, who is retiring after years of service with the company.
The largest mechanical and sheet metal contractor in Houston, Texas, Gowan is a subsidiary of EMCOR Group, Inc., a leader in mechanical and electrical construction, industrial and energy infrastructure, and building services for a diverse range of businesses.

Mr. Taylor, who joined Gowan in 1988, previously served as the company’s Chief Estimator and Project Executive. He has a strong background in purchasing, project management, and estimating. Over the last four years, he has provided the pre-construction estimating services and transitions to construction services for some of Gowan’s largest projects, including the Galveston National Laboratory and The Methodist Hospital Research Institute.
