ESD's Vallort receives ASHRAE's Exceptional Service Award

Chicago — James Vallort, Senior Vice President and Group Leader of Controls, Energy+Eco, and Commissioning at ESD (Environmental Systems Design) was recognized by ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers) for his contributions to the organization and the building industry with an Exceptional Service Award.

The Exceptional Service Award is an extension of ASHRAE’s Distinguished Service Award, received by Vallort in 2001. The award recognizes individuals who have continued to serve the Society faithfully and with exemplary effort. Vallort is one of fourteen recipients recognized this year.

Vallort has over 20 years of engineering and commissioning experience, and a strong background in project management, commissioning of building systems, and team leadership. His involvement in ASHRAE’s Illinois Chapter began as a student in 1991. Since he became a Member in 1997, he has served as President of the Illinois Chapter (1998-1999); Region VI’s Director & Regional Chair (2001-2004); Technology Council Member (2004-2005); Board of Directors Director & Regional Chair (2001-2004) and Director-at-Large (2005-2008); Standards Advisory Committee Member (2004-2005); Member of the Standards Committee (2009-2013); and more.
