DEWALT® announces the introduction of two new compact portable 18V/20V MAX* wet/dry vacuums.  The DCV580 cordless wet/dry vacuum is available in stores now and the DCV581H corded/cordless wet/dry vacuum will be available later this fall wherever DEWALT power tools are sold.  Both vacuums are ideal for jobs on and off the worksite that require quick and portable wet/dry cleanup.  Both units excel in tight spaces where larger vacuums may not be able to reach or when AC power isn’t convenient or available. “With the launch of the DCV580 & DCV581H vacuums, we are proud to debut the Multi-PortTM battery interface,” says Todd Plajzer, Product Manager, DEWALT.  The Multi-PortTM interface on the DCV580 & DCV581H allows the DEWALT 18V stem pack lithium ion and Nicad batteries or any of the 20V MAX* slide pack lithium ion batteries to fit into the same battery interface on the vacuums.  This feature enables the wet/dry vacuums to be used with any of DEWALT’s 18V batteries or DEWALT’s fast growing 20V MAX* lithium ion batteries.

“Multi-PortTM is a feature that we designed to continue to support users who invested in our 18V system as well as users who are currently using or are transitioning to the 20V MAX* system.  We will continue to include the Multi-PortTM interface on select products where we think it provides the most benefit to users.”

Both models include a compact design, suction and blower modes, integrated on-board accessory and cord storage for easy carry, and a crush-resistant 5’ x 1 ¼” (length x diameter) hose for durability and ease of use. The DCV580 includes a High-Efficiency, washable reusable filter and the DCV581H includes a HEPA-rated, washable reusable filter.

Each of the DCV580 and DCV581H retails for between $99.00 and $129.00, and come standard with a three-year limited warranty, one-year free service contract, and 90-day money-back guarantee.

*Maximum initial battery voltage (measured without a workload) is 20 volts. Nominal voltage is 18.
