Recirc System Reduces Stagnation & Maintains Water Quality

Wichita, Kan. — The Viega SmartLoop™ system, the only internal recirculation system in the market, helps maintain water quality by reducing water stagnation.

Ideal for use in multi-story commercial applications, Viega SmartLoop uses a supply riser to insulate the internal recirculation line tubing and keeps water hotter longer. Water within the system remains in constant motion, which reduces the risk of waterborne pathogens, including legionella.

The SmartLoop system offers several advantages including energy and water consumption savings potential of up to 40 percent. SmartLoop installation requires no separate return pipe, uses less insulation and uses fewer fittings, supports, penetrations and core drilling than a conventional recirculation installation. Installing SmartLoop with Viega ProPress® technology eliminates the need for soldering, brazing or grooving.

“Hot water recirculation systems are commonly installed in tall or long buildings,” said Derek Bower, product manager at Viega. “Compared to conventional recirculation systems, the SmartLoop reduces space requirements, material and labor costs, energy requirements and wait time for hot water at the fixture.”

Viega SmartLoop is Zero Lead compliant with lead-free legislation.
