The International Code Council announced today that Shawn Martin has been selected to lead ICC's Plumbing, Mechanical and Fuel Gas program. The PMG team led the development of the new International Swimming Pool and Spa Code and is active in standards development. Martin was named Director of PMG Activities. He has served as ICC’s PMG Director of Industry Relations for nearly four years.

“We are committed to the continued success of our PMG program,” said Code Council CEO Dominic Sims, CBO. “The ICC PMG program’s primary role is to support the I-Codes which are the predominant codes used throughout the U.S. and several countries around the globe. The PMG program will continue to focus on adoption and use of our PMG codes to improve public health and safety, technical services and grassroots development. We are pleased to recognize Shawn’s industry knowledge, skills and experience.”

Martin brings years of experience in the PMG disciplines, including building products. He serves as the staff liaison to the ICC PMG Membership Council. He is an active participant on technical committees of multiple plumbing code development organizations and involved in standards development with ASME (the American Society of Mechanical Engineers), CSA International (Canadian Standards Association), UL and SRCC (Solar Rating and Certification Corporation).

“I am looking forward to carrying on the work of ICC's PMG Group with a renewed emphasis on code adoption and support for ICC Members and stakeholders,” Martin said. “ICC is known for delivering the highest quality codes and standards for plumbing, mechanical, fuel gas, and now swimming pools and spas. I am proud to lead that commitment to public safety.”
