Past National President Bill Trombly Passes Away

William “Bill” Trombly Sr.
March 23, 1943 – January 2, 2015

Bill Trombly William R.Trombly, Sr. 71, of Manchester, N.H.,  and Davenport, Fla.,  passed away Jan. 2, 2015,  at a Manchester healthcare center surrounded by his family after a period of declining health. He was born in Manchester on March 23, 1943, the son of the late Frank and Mary (Shea) Trombly.

trombleyEducated in the local school system, he was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1961. He honorably served in the U.S. Army. Bill established a very successful business, Bill Trombly Plumbing and Heating Company. He held membership in numerous professional and civic organizations, among them: 2001-2002 president of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors—National Association (PHCC), National Founder and First Chair of PHCC’s Quality Service Contractors (QSC); founding member of the PHCC Educational Foundation, a founder of the Manchester Girls Softball at Derryfield Park in the 70’s, past member of St. Joseph School Board, past president JF and Associates Credit Union, past president of New Hampshire PHCC, past chairman of New Hampshire Plumbing Board, past chairman of New Hampshire Heating Advisory Council, chairman of St. Pius X Building Committee, St .Pius X Finance Committee, member Manchester Chamber of Commerce, past member of Manchester Zoning Board and Manchester Planning Board. He was voted New Hampshire Contractor of the Year 1985 and National Delta Faucet Contractor of the Year 1987.

Even with all the accolades, he was known to say that his greatest legacy was his wonderful family. His wife Bette (Riley) Trombly passed away in 2006 in the 45th year of their marriage.

Family members include three daughters: Cheryl Bryant, Linda Gagne, and Kelly Chase, all of Manchester; two sons, Michael Trombly of Shirley, Mass., and William Trombly Jr. of Manchester; his fiancé, Kim Ackerson of Windham, N.H.; 13 grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; two sisters, Catherine Trombly of Walpole, Mass., and Constance Williams of New Durham, N.H.; a brother, Daniel Trombly of Arizona, and many nieces and nephews. He was also pre-deceased by two brothers, Frank and Jim Trombly.

Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Jan. 9  in the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., corner of Beech St., Manchester. The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Jan. 10 at the McHugh Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 575 Candia Rd.
