The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors—National Association (PHCC) encourages all members and industry representatives to review the Proposed Code Changes for the 2018 National Standard Plumbing Code (NSPC) and attend the NSPC Public Hearing, scheduled for March 9 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

“This hearing is crucial to ensuring that all interested parties – licensed contractors, engineers and inspectors – are on the same page when it comes to properly installing plumbing systems and protecting public health and safety,” says Chuck White, PHCC’s vice president of regulatory affairs.

The NSPC Committee requested proposed changes to the 2015 NSPC last fall; if approved at the March hearing, the changes will appear in the 2018 NSPC; the NSPC Committee reviews the code annually and updates it on a three-year cycle.

The Public Hearing for Proposed Code Changes for the 2018 NSPC will take place on Thursday, March 9, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. ET, at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino, Atlantic City, New Jersey. Interested parties can make reservations before Feb. 14 by calling 800-247-8767 and referencing Group Code: Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors National Association.

Since first publishing a Standard Plumbing code in 1933, PHCC has been maintaining what is now known as the NSPC on an annual basis. Designed to ensure the proper installation of plumbing systems, the NSPC provides local and state governments, code administrative bodies, and industry with a modern code to protect public health and safety.
Proposed changes to the 2018 NSPC can be viewed and downloaded at www.phccweb.org/NSPC.
