North Olmsted, Ohio — One of the nation’s largest home builders has honored Moen Incorporated with their prestigious “Partners of Choice Award,” by receiving an “A” rating in service.  David Weekley Homes, the largest, privately held home builder in America, awarded Moen with this honor for the fifth time as a result of their high rating in their interactive evaluation and feedback platform in which approximately 175 suppliers participate.  The award was presented in a ceremony on July 24, 2013 at the David Weekley National Accounts Meeting in Houston, Texas.

The award is based on David Weekley Homes’ rigorous evaluation platform which includes the National Trading Partner Survey that assesses suppliers on  quality and service.  Each company’s numeric scores are averaged, and then an alpha ranking is assigned that relates its score to all of their national trading partners. Alpha rankings range from A to F in 20-percent increments.  Once complete, each company receives a quarterly score card indicating their average scores and alpha rankings for the quarter and rolling 12 months.  Then through a series of planning steps, coaching calls and meetings, supplier and David Weekley Homes work together in pursuit of excellence.

“You can never stop in your quest to achieve world-class excellence,” said Bill Justus, vice president of supply chain services for David Weekley Homes.  “Our interactive system facilitates communication to help our national trading partners stay in front of issues and create a roadmap for continuous improvement and success.”

After the comprehensive evaluation, few companies rise to the top with such excellent marks.  In fact, only 24 companies received the award and only eight received the prestigious “Partners of Choice,” A ranking.

“Knowing that the scores are extremely competitive, we are truly honored – and humbled – to once again receive this remarkable award from David Weekley Homes,” said Brian Grenfell, vice president of wholesale sales, Moen Incorporated.  “At Moen, we have embraced the David Weekley process to gain insights and help ensure that we can create a seamless process – from faucet procurement to installation. It’s an honor to be recognized for our efforts.”

David Weekley Homes’ strong commitment to excellence is demonstrated by including approximately 600 team members in its survey from every market and level inside its organization.

“We have seen how Moen – from top management down – has embraced our process to actively manage and improve the supply chain,” said Justus.  “Moen continues to demonstrate that it is truly a world-class organization in delivering the highest levels of service to our organization.  We want to embrace and grow our relationship with partners that invest time and resources to achieve this type of excellence.”
