Ontario, Calif. — The IAPMO Group is pleased to announce that CEO GP Russ Chaney will attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit, which will be held Oct. 5-7 in Bali, Indonesia. Chaney has been invited to attend the summit as a delegate and will be accompanied by senior staff members Dain Hansen, director of government relations, and Megan Lehtonen, director of international business development.
The summit, to be held at the Bali International Convention Center, will feature an exciting interactive program that covers key issues affecting the Asia-Pacific region. With the theme “Towards Resilience and Growth: Reshaping Priorities for Global Economy,” the summit will provide enriching discussion by policy makers, business leaders and innovative thinkers on securing inclusive sustainable growth and achieving the aim of shared development and common prosperity for all.
World leaders who have confirmed they will attend the APEC meetings in Bali include U.S. President Barack Obama, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and many other APEC world leaders. More than 1,000 global business and thought leaders are also expected to be in attendance, which will provide extensive networking opportunities with senior delegations from China, the United States, Japan, Korea, Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
The summit comes on the heels of two recent announcements by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Standards Alliance that IAPMO has received awards to help improve the health and safety of Indonesia’s water and sanitation systems. As part of IAPMO’s efforts, it will collaborate with local officials to bring its Uniform Plumbing Code® (UPC) to Indonesia, underscoring that the summit – and its location – is very timely.
