Clothes make the tradesman

IMG_3773I have been on a lifelong quest to find the perfect work attire. My wardrobe over the the years has changed, with the styles of course. At one point I wore the work shorts similar to Lieutenant Jim Dangle on Reno 911. Hey, they worked in hot humid weather and were easy to launder.

Your average tradesperson wants comfort and features along with a reasonable service expectancy. I have worn all the typical “jeans” brands and many of the work wear specific brands. Recently, I had a chance to sport a pair of the Wall Workwear Pants.

Walls Outdoor Goods is part of the Williamson Dickie Manufacturing group. They have a wide selection if work and hunting clothes and the Dickie coveralls are legendary.

I got the rather unique Flex Lite style. They are triple stitched with extra insert panels in the all-important crotch and knee area. The pockets are deep and well constructed. A small insert pocket on the right side is a perfect fit for my cell phone. Plenty of belt loops to keep the pants in proper place were appreciated. I used a stretchy belt to complement the stretch cotton polyester blend. Time will tell how they hold up to plumbing chores like soldering and dirt work. If they wear as well as the look and feel, I think I have found a new favorite.

Walls Outdoor Goods, the 79-year-old workwear and hunting brand, announces its launch of a complete line of work pants, which will be available fall 2017. The line will include seven durable styles that feature innovative materials, such as DuPont™ Kevlar®, and design accents tailored for the modern worker.
