Delivering big performance in a small package, the RIDGID SeeSnake Compact series of camera reels just got better with the addition of the SeeSnake Compact C40 and M40, each powered by TruSense technology.

Both camera reels feature a 25 mm self-leveling camera head, 131 feet (40 meters) of push cable and are compatible with RIDGID CSx series Wi-Fi enabled monitors. Their quick-release docking system makes them ideal for the new CS6x Versa digital reporting monitor and their sturdy metal frame provides a solid base that makes it easy to push and retrieve the cable for fast, efficient use. The C40’s flexible push cable is ideal for small/restricted branch lines with tight turns and shorter runs in main laterals, while the M40’s moderately stiff push cable better suits longer runs in main and branch lines.

The integrated TruSense technology establishes a two-way datalink path between the camera head and a connected RIDGID SeeSnake CSx series Wi-Fi enabled monitor. TruSense technology brings powerful data capability to plumbing diagnostics. A high dynamic range (HDR) image sensor and Tiltsense inclinometer takes the next leap forward in diagnostic imaging and conveys valuable information about the in-pipe environment.

A common challenge faced by diagnostic professionals is being able to see far down the pipe as well as the image just in front of the camera’s lights. An HDR image sensor expands the camera’s dynamic range, allowing a greater ratio of bright and dark areas to be displayed in the same image at the same time without reducing visibility. This means fewer blown-out areas and sections of the pipe that are too dark to see, offering superior clarity and detail. TiltSense measures the camera’s angle and, when connected to a SeeSnake CSx series monitor, can convey the camera’s degree of tilt on the monitor display – giving pros a useful indicator of the pitch of the camera in-pipe.

“The compact, lightweight design of our new RIDGID SeeSnake Compact C40 and M40 are engineered to make transporting from work truck to jobsite easier while minimizing strain on the body,” said Amy Moneypenny, RIDGID Global Product Manager, Underground Technologies – Inspection and Locating. “The small package and all-in-one monitor capability, when used with the SeeSnake CS6x Versa monitor, enhance jobsite speed and efficiency for a more productive day.”

The Compact C40 and M40 each come with the RIDGID Full Lifetime Warranty.

Trusted industry innovator introduces new line of commercial-grade water filters, softeners, conditioners and accessories for plumbing contractors

A. O. Smith Residential Water Treatment Solutions, plumbing, water filtrationGlobal water technology company A. O. Smith Corporation announced the introduction of its first A. O. Smith line of residential water treatment products available exclusively to the wholesale channel. Designed for plumbing contractors, the new A. O. Smith PRO water treatment line will include high-performance, commercial-grade point-of-use water filtration systems; water softeners and salt-free water conditioners; and water neutralizing and descaling accessories to allow for a fully comprehensive solution for healthier water.

“As concerns about water quality continue to grow nationwide, providing distributors and contractors the ability to help solve these issues and improve overall water quality becomes more important,” said Sam Karge, president of the North American water treatment division at A. O. Smith. “The new line leverages cutting-edge technology to provide cleaner, healthier and better-tasting water throughout the home while also extending the life of appliances and plumbing.”

Water Filtration

The new A. O. Smith PRO water filters feature four under-counter drinking water systems, including a high-flow option that attaches directly to an existing faucet and three systems that use dedicated faucets. The PRO line systems range from carbon-based filters to a premium reverse osmosis option that reduces up to 99 percent of 90 contaminants, including lead, fluoride, asbestos, PFOA/PFOS, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, viruses, bacteria and more.

Water Softening

The A. O. Smith PRO water softeners reduce excessive calcium and magnesium to solve hard water problems throughout the home. Available in two sizes – 34,800 grain capacity and 49,800 grain capacity – the softener offering includes two slim, single-unit options that come with self-cleaning sediment filters, power-loss protection, touchscreen controllers and varying capacities.

Water Conditioning

The A. O. Smith PRO Water Conditioner utilizes innovative filtration and salt-free scale reduction technology to extend the life of the appliances and plumbing. Designed for use on city or well-water connections, the system reduces scale buildup and more than 97 percent of chlorine for up to six years or 600,000 gallons.

Water Treatment Accessories

The A. O. Smith PRO Acid Neutralizer neutralizes acidic condensation from high-efficiency tankless water heaters and helps prevent premature deterioration and damage to pipes and other materials. The A. O. Smith PRO Inline Descaler resists scale buildup, extends the life of water heaters without adding chemicals to the water and does not require electricity.

Available to A. O. Smith contractors nationwide, each product in the PRO series comes with a limited warranty, and select product purchases will qualify for Contractor Rewards points. Marketair Brasotek for HVAC/R Copper Pipe/Fitting Brazing PreparationMarketair Inc., an Edison, N.J.-based supplier of specialized and innovative  installation components for the North American HVAC market, introduces Brasotek, a cutting-edge, time-saving method for prepping copper pipe and fittings prior to brazing.

Brasotek replaces traditional methods and reduces the time needed to clean the joint areas on brazed copper linesets by more than 50 percent. It conserves filler rod, reduces the need for flux, requires lower brazing temperatures and less brazing time by 15 percent.  The eco-friendly, non-toxic and biodegradable liquid, which is non- flammable, is intended primarily for linesets as used in most ducted or ductless VRF/VRV AC systems, but can also be applied to most plumbing, hydronic heating or any installations requiring copper pipe and fitting brazing.

Brasotek is available in two configurations: The BTA-5 Mini is a small felt-tipped, pen sized applicator with a 6-ounce (5-ml) bottle for smaller pipes, and the BTA-20 MIDI is a larger version with  6.7-ounce (20-ml) bottle and 1-inch-long applicator pad for larger pipes. Both versions eliminate the cleaning of joint areas with emery cloth, which is difficult to use correctly on interior surfaces, very time-consuming, susceptible to deep scratching surfaces and creates copper dust and filing residue, which often migrate into the interior of the lineset and create a potential to clog valve orifices.

Currently the only known liquid brazing preparation of its type for copper pipes and fittings, the patented Brasotek solution is simply brushed on to the surfaces surrounding the weld area and evaporates within 5 to 10 seconds. This provides a bright clean surface that remains usable for up to 90 minutes. The result is  perfectly brazed connection when using a silver/phosphorus filler rod commonly-used in high pressure refrigerant applications.

Other Brasotek features include:

  • Replacement bottles of cleaning solution are available separately.
  • Applicators tips or pads can be reused many times and are also available as replacements.
  • For very large pipe sizes, larger applicators are available on request;
  • Cleaning with Brasotek is very cost effective, due to the minimal fluid usage and is considerably cheaper than the cost of a callback due to a braze connection that leaks due to poor cleaning.
  • Packaged in a clear clamshell J-hook merchandiser with a four color label and instruction sheet;

Well-established in its home country of Italy, as well as other parts of Europe,  Brasotek is the preferred in-factory brazing choice of a number of local air conditioning manufacturers such as ONDA, OLIVET, SAMBONET, NOVATERM and other European HVAC/R manufacturers. The Brasotek process is available on video at www.marketair.com/brasotek.
