Milwaukee has added another M18 powered pipe threader. This time the new entry is a compact model w/ their famed ONE-KEY technology and a its own lightweight, self-branded die sets. Catalog# 2870-22 is the full kit as tested, it include the aluminum dies for threading 1/2″ to 1-1/4″ iron pipe.

When compared to the 2019 released M18 FUEL Threader w/ ONE-KEY (standard size) the compact tool uses a different style of die interface whereas the #2874-22 threader accepts RIDGID 12R style dies which most plumbing and HVAC contractors already own.

A new lightweight aluminum dies set is also available for the standard size #2874 tool as well. This new set is the 12R style but weighing in at 50% of the cast steel dies that have longtime been part of the pipe threading landscape. Here’s a link to the new Milwaukee 1/2″ – 2″ High Speed NPT portable pipe threading forged aluminum die head kit.

Wall hung toilets are popular all over the world however they’ve not caught on quickly here in North America. Whether its builders, plumbers or both who resist them its too bad considering I’ve installed these many times now and for multiple clients, all who prefer them over a standard floor set toilet.

Space savings and cleanliness are the biggest sellers when comparing all the specs to a traditional floor mount toilet. Performance is great and placement options are actually increased over a traditional toilet rough-in so its hard to see why they haven’t caught on more than they have to date.

Sure cost is higher but square footage is gained, design options are nearly endless and as mentioned before, cleanliness is superior so here’s to hoping this video helps anyone looking for more information on wall hung toilet plumbing from the beginning stages of construction.
