Effective Jan. 4, 2014, valves, fittings or fixtures that come into contact with potable water (refer to USA Federal Public Law 111-380 for exceptions) and contain lead in excess of 0.25% weighted average limit for wetted surfaces will not be allowed to be installed in the
U.S. market. The Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act was signed into law in January of 2011.

“Caleffi is years ahead of most manufacturers in preparing for the upcoming law having already sold tens of thousands of lead-free products in the U.S. and Canada. In 2009 our entire line of residential point-of-use and point-of-distribution thermostatic mixing valves
was converted to lead-free. Though only California and Vermont required them, we made the strategic decision anticipating more regions and ultimately the remainder of U.S. and Canada to legislate so. We were also the first to introduce third party certified lead-free
balancing valves and remain, to our knowledge, the only maker of lead-free zone valves. And by year end we will introduce more innovative lead-free plumbing products,” said Mark Olson, General Manager.

Caleffi, an industry leader in creating innovative, superior performance products while maintaining a soft impact on the environment, offers these quality IAPMO low-lead certified valves:

Pressure Independent Balancing Valves: Series 127 FlowCal™
3-Way Thermostatic Mixing Valves: Series 5213 for scald protection point-of-use,
Series 521 MixCal™ and Series 2521 for solar applications
 Zone valves: Series Z-one™
