GB162 TR4 Cascade (ad shot)[2]Bosch Thermotechnology’s Buderus brand GB162 gas condensing boiler is now more versatile than ever before. Combining condensing and cascade technologies together in one compact, lightweight design provides ultra-high performance efficiencies (up to 93% AFUE) with the ability to fit multiple boiler units into tight spaces.

The GB162 is ideal for wall or rack-mounted applications for multi-boiler cascades – up to 8 units can now be cascaded. The GB162 is designed for applications like smaller commercial buildings and larger homes and is whisper quiet in operation.

Buderus GB162 units can be deployed in either TR back-to-back or TL in-line configurations with corresponding Cascade Kits for easy installations of up to eight boilers for total capacity up to 2664 MBH.

The GB162 is equipped with a patented, extremely efficient aluminum silicate ALU-Plus condensing heat exchanger to ensure the longest possible operational life. Each unit can modulate down to 20% of total output for year-round efficiency.

The energy saving efficiency of the GB162 can be seen in a recent stand-alone LPG unit with a Buderus indirect hot water tank installation in a diner in Waldoboro, Maine. A propane–fueled GB162 achieved a payback in fuel savings of $7,000 in just five months on a projected $9,000 annual fuel savings for the unit over the former oil-fired boiler. As a result, the Moody’s Diner GB162 installation was awarded the Bosch Green Living Award this year in the Floor/Wall-Mounted Boiler category.
