Novi, Mich. — Recognizing the need to perpetuate growth within the plumbing industry, BrassCraft Manufacturing reaffirmed its dedication by announcing an endowment gift to the newly formed Texas Women in Trades, an organization that focuses on recruiting young people, women and minorities into the trades.
BrassCraft Manufacturing’s decision to partner with Texas Women in Trades (http://www.texaswomenintrades.com) was an easy one. “As a long-time advocate for plumbers, BrassCraft Manufacturing is proud to support this endeavor,” explained Marketing and Product Development Vice President, Jeff Jollay. “We recognize the need to promote awareness and recruit younger people to the plumbing industry, particularly women, and are committed to sponsoring this organization.”
By providing industry resources and a network of community leaders, school districts and colleges, Texas Women in Trades provides much needed exposure of the plumbing craft to a new generation. Founder and Mechanical Hub friend and frequent contributor Allie Perez explained, “When I became employed in the plumbing industry, I immediately noticed the lack of young people.” In seeking support of their efforts, the organization found the ideal partner in BrassCraft Manufacturing, a leading manufacturer of plumbing products, willing to champion this cause. “There is a disconnect with today’s young adults,” commented Perez. “They are inundated with media an direct mail promoting colleges and the military, but very little is said about the trades. Our goal is to build awareness and promote careers in trades.”
