Bosch Thermotechnology Corp. announced today, a new line of tankless gas condensing water heaters. The Bosch Greentherm 9000 Series offers nine models for high-efficiency domestic hot water in residential or commercial applications, adding new features for easy installation, operation and maintenance. The Consumer Technology Association recently recognized the Greentherm 9900i SE model as a CES 2017 Innovation Awards Honoree.

The Greentherm 9000 Series features an Energy Factor of 0.99 with Thermal Efficiency of 100%, which is the highest in the industry for condensing gas water heaters. This series achieves temperature stability of plus- or minus- two degrees Fahrenheit through the active bypass. Furthermore, its advanced technology seamlessly controls output capacity, optimizing comfort and efficiency by combining the burner’s pulsating mode with the bypass valve to achieve the desired outlet temperature, even at low flow rates. Its wide operating range – between 9,000 and 199,000 Btu, saves energy when hot water demand is low.

The Greentherm 9000 Series models feature sleek, rounded corners on the metal cabinet, making these water heaters as beautiful as they are energy-efficient. The premium 9900i SE model has a unique, stylish glass front and integrated Wi-Fi control – also an option on other models – enabling the homeowner to control water heater remotely via a free mobile app. The Wi-Fi module communicates with the app to provide operating performance information to the user, and sends any alerts directly to a compatible smartphone. Outdoor models feature a concealed, built-in controller with optional Wi-Fi connectivity.

“We designed the Bosch Greentherm 9000 Series with the installer in mind,” said Freddie Molina, tankless product manager of Bosch Thermotechnology Corp. “For indoor units, top-mounted water connections allow for easier, faster replacement of a tank-type water heater. The patented OptiFlow combustion management system automatically adjusts for a variety of installation conditions, including flue length and altitude, eliminating the need for a combustion analyzer in most installations to simplify the installation process.”

Each model offers simple conversion to LPG using the included manifold injector kit, which eliminates stocking both LP and NG units, thus saving the wholesaler’s inventory cost.

Installation permits up to 60 feet of venting with two-inch pipe, or 280 feet of venting with three-inch pipe, using a wide range of venting material options. It may be used with half-inch or three-quarter-inch gas line with appropriate connection, and a built-in recirculation pump allows for simpler installations. The Greentherm 9000 Series requires no dedicated return line, decreasing wait time for hot water at the tap, thus reducing water waste and saving an estimated 11,000 gallons a year per household.

The commercial Greentherm 9000 models offer heavy-duty primary and secondary heat exchangers for longer lifespan, and deliver water supply temperature to 180°F. Systems also can be cascaded up to 24 units to achieve flow rates of more than 200 gallons per minute – ideal for commercial buildings, schools and hotels.

Residential units offer a standard 15-year limited warranty on the heat exchanger and a five-year limited warranty on parts – see full warranty details, or learn more about the Bosch Greentherm 9000 Series on www.boschheatingandcooling.com.
